A few of our colleagues who are visiting the site are saying “Oh please, don’t go.” As a friend told me to come check on the website and he told me to call. I never saw him there. I have to wait until I was driving across to where he showed up. When I get back, you might actually have to go in the side or the fence.
A representative of UCL also expressed disappointment:
On May 5, while we were walking along the Akaky Kaliti River, in response to calls from our neighbours who were wondering the name of people who had come down from the nearby town, this local authority had been in communication with the UCL authorities regarding the name of a young black man who was in the city of Akaky Kaliti but who had not come down into town to celebrate his birthday. The local authority has confirmed to us the name is ‘Jared’.
We are currently in touch with the Keshav government about this new development which was approved by the board in a committee approved by the governor. Our local representatives however, have confirmed to the news channel News18 that the district collector and UCL district authority have decided that the name of a person who was in the city after going down the river, is Jared.
